As a parent, you are the first and foremost educator of your child. Therefore, it is very important that parents and teachers work together as a team. Please talk to your child about what he/she is doing at school, read together daily, check his/her folder each evening, and contact me anytime you have any questions or concerns.
You can also help by working with your child on the following skills at home:
- buttoning, snapping, and zipping clothes and jackets
- putting jackets on and off independently
- cleaning up after meals and play time
- proper hygiene, such as wiping, handwashing, and covering the mouth/nose to cough or sneeze
Parents and grandparents are welcome to help out in our classroom. If you would like to help with something, please let me know ahead of time so that I can plan accourdingly.
One of the best ways to help is to schedule a time to share something special with the class. This is a wonderful (and deeply appreciated) way to help enhance our classroom curriculum. Topic suggestions include something from your heritage, a hobby, talent, career, pet, or other area of knowledge or special interest.
